The ICON A5 is an amphibian model which can operated from land and from water. It's a licensed reconstruction of the A5 of ICON Aircraft. The kit is complete with motor, brushless controller and servos. Only a receiver and a battery are required separately. The buildup is simple and done quickly. A landing gear can be mounted for operation from a runway. Alternatively gear covers can be fixed for water operation. Starts and landings on snow without landing gear are a piece of cake (it's water too, isn't it?). The maiden flight has been made on fresh snow because there was plenty of it there and water sports are not that funny in winter.
The ICON A5 it flying pretty fast. But it's easy to control anyway. The landings must be made with flat angle to avoid bump offs. This is probably the same on water.
